Convert PNG to JPG, the right way
PNG and JPG are built for different jobs. PNG stores every pixel exactly and supports transparency, which makes it perfect for graphics and terrible for photographs, where its files balloon to many times the necessary size. JPG compresses photographic detail brilliantly but knows nothing about transparency. Converting PNG to JPG makes sense whenever the image is photographic in nature, needs to meet an upload size limit, or is headed somewhere that only accepts JPG: many forms, portals, and older systems still do.
What happens to transparency
JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent regions must become something. Our converter flattens them onto a clean white background, which is the standard, predictable behavior for documents, product photos, and uploads. If your graphic genuinely needs its transparency, keep it as PNG, or convert it to WebP, which supports transparency at a much smaller size.
