What happens to your images?

When you choose a file, your browser reads it locally and creates the processed version on your own device. CompressImage.ca does not receive the original image or the finished file.

Will compressing reduce quality?

Does it stay a JXL file?

Yes. The output is still a JPEG XL file. To switch formats instead, use the JXL to JPG, PNG or WebP converters.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The JPEG XL is decoded, re-encoded and saved entirely in your browser, so your file never leaves your device.
